Description
This section of land was impacted by the Cudlee Creek Bushfire when in 2019, strong northerly winds combined with existing dry conditions and high temperatures to create dangerous bushfire weather in South Australia, and several fires broke out across the state.
The Kersbrook biodiversity corridor is a strip of land on Checker Hill Road that was impacted by the bushfires, which connected larger habitat areas, allowing species to move freely between these areas and promoting the exchange of genetic diversity.
By contributing to the planting of 15,000 plants, you are helping to re-establish this corridor and providing a range of benefits to the local ecosystem.
One of the main benefits of a biodiversity corridor is that it helps to preserve and protect the diversity of plant and animal life in an area. By allowing species to move freely between different habitats, you are helping to ensure a healthy mix of genetic diversity within each habitat.
By contributing to the planting of 15,000 plants, you are also helping to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, which can help to mitigate the effects of climate change.
Your purchase will enable one native tubestock to be planted.
Plants planted to date: 720 Tubestock
